Life with Loopy is a mixed media segment created by Stephen Holman, featured on all four seasons of the Nickelodeon animated sketch comedy series KaBlam!.

A 12-year-old boy named Larry Cooper narrates the bizarre adventures of his younger (7-year-old) sister, Lupicia "Loopy" Cooper.

Overview[]

Originally, Holman pitched a live-action short film titled "We Are the Shrimpskins" to Nickelodeon for the network to run as an interstitial (between regular programming). When he signed for it, an agreement in the contract stated an animated short film of some kind would be included, which was Life with Loopy. "Shrimpskins" did not continue, but Loopy would prove popular on KaBlam!, airing across all four seasons of the show.

Characters were animated with stop motion puppet bodies, but their heads were created with cardboard. When a character has to grab and/or manipulate an object, live-action hands are used, a technique used by shows beforehand in the 1960s produced by Gerry Anderson filmed with "Supermarionation" (marionette puppets containing electric moving parts). Live-action characters and hand puppets were also seen.
