Synopsis[]

Henry and June have the tough task, assigned by network executive Fred Stockdale, to fire their Sasquatch stagehand Mr. Foot who has spent most of his time on the job hardly working.

In Action League Now!, riding a diseased guinea pig results in the Flesh contracting a disease that dismembers its carriers in a short amount of time! The Flesh's limbs begin to fall off, and — even with their best efforts — the rest of the Action League contract the disease soon after. Can Bill the Lab Guy find a cure in enough time for Flesh to help the Chief caddy for his upcoming golf game?

During Prometheus and Bob, Prometheus and Bob learn not to tamper with natural evolution!

Stewy the Dog Boy makes its world premiere, where a dog named Stewy dresses like a human boy as a way of attending fourth grade at Deerlick Park Elementary School.

Another musical interlude from They Might Be Giants is featured, where a group of students learn about the sun from a scientist!

Henry and June Act 1
Henry & June Pleading for not getting fired Henry and June are here, ready to "kick that cartoon flava," before network executive Fred Stockdale makes an unscheduled visit. Stockdale is afraid that it isn't a social call, as he has been told by the network to come down to the set and fire someone. Henry abruptly apologizes because he needed the extra pens for school and didn't think anyone would miss them, begging not to be fired! Stockdale says he's not firing Henry, but instead a stagehand, pulling out a pink slip to read Mr. Foot's name. June says Stockdale can't fire Mr. Foot because he hasn't done anything as he sleeps offstage, yet Henry thinks that might be part of the problem. Stockdale gets emotional, wondering why it always has to be him as the bad guy. Henry says it's just not fair as it shouldn't be Stockdale's job. He agrees, telling Henry to fire Mr. Foot instead. Henry tries to interject, but Stockdale threatens to fire him for stealing pens, and that goes for June, too! She can't believe they have to fire Mr. Foot, and Henry thinks they may as well get it over with. He goes up to Mr. Foot in an attempt to awaken him, but gets punched across the set. While Henry and June figure out how to "can" Mr. Foot, the viewers "can" watch Action League Now!.

Action League Now! What's eating the Flesh

What's Eating the Flesh

At Bill the Lab Guy's laboratory, he shows the Action League one of the most important discoveries in medical history. The Flesh thought someone already invented the guinea pig, but Bill clarifies that he's talking about the virus it carries, christened the "body eating virus," because it eats any victim's body until there is nothing left. He warns the League not to touch the infected guinea pig, as the virus is highly contagious, but the Flesh doesn't listen and rides the infected guinea pig, thinking he's a cowboy! As a result, he loses an arm. At Action Headquarters, Bill analyzes the Flesh through a microscope and tells the League that there's nothing he can do. Plus, if anybody touches him, they will be infected with the virus, too. The Chief still says that Bill must cure the Flesh, and Thundergirl agrees that his life is at stake. The Chief then brings up a more important point that the All-Chiefs Golf Classic is happening, and he needs the Flesh to be his caddy. Bill says he could look for a cure in the rainforest, as he knows a shaman who could help. The Chief then orders Bill to find the shaman, as he tees off at 1:30 and can't win without the Flesh! Bill sets off as the Chief assures the Flesh that he's going to be fine. Just then, the Flesh loses his left leg, but is still relieved. While Bill races the clock in his go-kart, Stinky Diver, Thundergirl, and Meltman all give the Flesh a little "TLC" at Action Headquarters. Stinky cleans out his ears, Meltman shaves his chest, and Thundergirl brushes his hair. Meanwhile, the Chief is at Waxed Wood Driving Range, practicing his golf swing. When he hits the first golf ball, it bounces off a lamp in the kitchen. Meltman has just finished successfully shaving the Flesh's chest without touching him, but at that moment, the golf ball hits him and knocks him into the Flesh, causing him to get the virus too, losing his arms. Thundergirl takes off, however the Chief hits another golf ball, which bounces off of a pot in the kitchen, hits her, knocks her into Stinky and the Flesh, and all of them are now infected. Bill meets the shaman at Kitchen Windowsill Rainforest and asks him about the cure for the virus. The shaman tells him in his own language that the cure is medicinal sap. Bill then asks the shaman where the sap is. Just as the shaman is about to tell him, however, the Chief hits yet another golf ball, which knocks a plant over that squashes the shaman. Bill then asks him again where the sap is. The shaman weakly tries to tell Bill, but the Chief hits another golf ball, which knocks over a bottle that lands on Bill. The Chief is frustrated that he has just run out of golf balls as the heads of Stinky, Meltman, and Thundergirl roll to him in need of help. The Chief promises to, as long as they don't touch him! The Flesh's head catches up and accidentally knocks Thundergirl's head into the Chief's golf ball returner, which launches it onto the Chief. Since he now has the virus as well, the entire League is doomed!

Henry and June Act 2
Henry & June are fixing stuff for Mr. Foot June recaps, for those that are just tuning in, that the network has told her and Henry to fire their "stalwart stagehand" Mr. Foot, because he hasn't exactly been doing his job, still asleep. So, like the true professionals Henry and June are, they took the bull by the horns and are doing his job for him. Once the network sees how spiffy the place looks, June thinks they'll probably give Mr. Foot a raise! Henry asks June to turn off the KaBlam! sign, as he's going to fix it up like new. While Henry goes up the ladder, the camera zooms in on his exposed butt, and June jokes that the "moon's sure out early." He doesn't understand, but she says it's nothing. Henry asks June for the pliers, as she imagines how Mr. Foot will thank them when he finds out what they've done for him. As Mr. Foot turns in his sleep, he flips a switch that turns the sign back on, electrocuting them! Henry thinks so much for the thanks, turning the page to Prometheus and Bob.

Prometheus and Bob
Prom & Bob Evolution Chamber

Tape #677, Evolution Chamber

Prometheus has created an evolution chamber, showing it off to Bob and Monkey. Opening a crate, he pulls out a rabid dog and places it in the chamber, where it then becomes an affectionate dog. While Prometheus isn't looking, Bob places Monkey in the chamber who then becomes a human, asking Prometheus to hand over the dog. Closing the chamber (and calling both Prometheus and Bob "jerks"), Monkey and the dog are reverted back to their original selves as the dog chases Bob. Next, Prometheus lures Bob into the chamber with the help of a chicken wing, but he becomes a Caucasian-looking alien! The dog bites Prometheus's ankle as he falls into the chamber, and he becomes a purple-looking caveman! Then, as Prometheus and Bob struggle with their new identities, the Monkey goes into the chamber and becomes a large brain, reverting them to their normal selves. Finally, Prometheus has had enough of his creation, ready to destroy it with Bob's wooden club, but Monkey places it in the chamber, transforming it into a metal baseball bat. Prometheus takes it and knocks down the chamber, much to Bob's delight as Monkey shuts the camera off.

What's Eating the Flesh

Bill the Lab Guy awakens, finding the medicinal sap he has been looking for inside the bottle on top of him. Back in the living room, the heads of the Flesh, Meltman, Thundergirl and Stinky Diver look at each other, being sure that the virus will shortly devour them completely. The Chief is angry with everyone else, yelling that he'd stomp them if he had any legs left! Suddenly, Bill arrives and pours the medicinal sap on them, finally curing them of the virus. The Chief, who now has his entire body again, is pleased that he's cured in time for the All-Chiefs Golf Classic, but all he needs now is a golf ball. Moments later at the golf course, the Chief uses the Flesh's head as a golf ball, which he hits as it bounces over various obstacles, and lands in for a "head-in-one!" The Chief proves to Bill that he couldn't win without the Flesh, as everyone laughs.

Henry and June Act 3
Henry & June Failing to fire Mr. Foot Nr. 2 Henry and June haven't gotten much further in firing Mr. Foot, who continues to sleep. June doesn't know how they're going to be able to say goodbye to the big man, and thinks of all the memories she and Henry have shared, as clips from previous KaBlam! episodes are shown, all involving him getting hurt by Mr. Foot. Angry over them, Henry tries to handle the firing, this time successfully waking up Mr. Foot. Henry tells Mr. Foot while he's been at the studio for a long time, nothing lasts forever. As Henry is about to say the words, Mr. Foot envisions himself getting kicked out of the studio and panhandling on the streets. He and his family are forced to leave their home by police, and look through a dumpster bin in an alley at night. Henry says it's not fair as they can't just toss Mr. Foot aside like some furry piece of trash! Henry won't stand for it, because as heaven is his witness, Mr. Foot will never lose his job. Henry inadvertently steps on Mr. Foot while ranting, who then punches him across the set. Despite a weak "you're fired" from Henry, June believes Mr. Foot didn't hear. She then turns the page to the world premiere of Stewy the Dog Boy.

Stewy the Dog Boy
Stewy the DogBoy logo Stewy sleeps in the living room until he, Heidi and Heather are called by their mother to the kitchen for breakfast. Stewy goes outside to fetch the newspaper for his father, who gives in return the comics section. Heidi and Heather want to go to the park and play, but Dad says it's their first day of school and they can make a lot of new friends, which Stewy finds interesting. As Dad leaves the house, Stewy tries to go to school as well, but puts him back inside, telling him school is for kids and no dogs are allowed! Stewy doesn't get it, as the other neighborhood dogs file into the house, trying to play with him, but he's not in a good mood. A parakeet named Melvis comes into the house and wonders what's wrong. Stewy tells him Mom and Dad took the twins to school and he was left at home. Melvis brings up the point Stewy is a dog; he chews bones, digs holes and chases cats, like other dogs! Stewy says if the twins are going to school, he is as well. Melvis tries to stop him, but recommends he at least put on some pants. Stewy is on his way to school, following a group of other students, until two of them wonder what kind of freak carries his lunchbox in his mouth; a freak with a big nose! Stewy tries to ignore them, but runs into another kid named Lance. They quickly befriend each other as in class, Lance offers Stewy a seat next to him. Stewy circles around his seat a few times, as some of his classmates are confused. Their teacher, Mr. Ramsey, begins speaking as Stewy scratches himself, saying he's "itchy." The class laughs, but Mr. Ramsey isn't amused. Stewy and Lance snicker while a couple of female classmates wonder who he is, thinking he's funny-looking. Mr. Ramsey says the school year is going to begin with a very special treat; an educational film. As the film plays, most of the class falls asleep until the film shows a photograph of the moon's surface, which Stewy howls at, getting the rest of the class to do so as well. Now in Science 101, Mr. Ramsey leads his students in simulating the mighty volcano and says it is very important they use the precise amounts. If they overdo it, the results could be dangerous! Lance shows his volcano to Stewy, and he tries to top that, but doesn't get any results. After shaking up his volcano, it starts to work, but the fizz explodes all over Mr. Ramsey, who sends Stewy to the principal's office. Mr. Jarwater tells Stewy he has had quite a first day at school; howling at the moon, scratching in class, talking back and growling, blew up a volcano and destroyed the science lab. Mr. Jarwater says Stewy made the biggest, loudest, most powerful explosion the school has ever seen, and believes he is a genius! Stewy questions this at first, but thinks he is indeed, and Mr. Jarwater says they're going to put the school on the map! In the meantime, he recommends Stewy take it easy on Mr. Ramsey. Stewy walks through a crowd of cheering students, as he and Lance bid farewell with a high-five. As Stewy walks outside, he sees that Heidi and Heather are getting picked up from school. Stewy races home before them, and pulls up his water dish to the front door. Dad has some pity, thinking Stewy hasn't moved all day, as Heidi and Heather give some love to their furry friend and Mom brought home a special treat for him.

Henry and June Act 4
Henry & June get Mr. Foot a new Job June welcomes everyone back to another smooth sailing, trouble-free episode of KaBlam!. Henry notices Mr. Foot is gone, and asks what happened to him. June explains that after watching her co-host's pathetic attempts, she had to step in and take care of business, even helping Mr. Foot find another job! Henry is impressed and wonders what job June got for Mr. Foot, but she thinks it didn't make much difference, since all he does is sleep. Mr. Foot is now at his new job as an air traffic controller and dozes off, while Henry thinks June has gone insane. She wonders what's the worst thing that could happen, before they are shellshocked by an explosion outside the studio. Mr. Foot walks back in, throwing away his airport outfit and goes back to sleep. An annoyed Henry asks if June has any other bright ideas, as she recommends a brand new video by They Might Be Giants.

They Might Be Giants
They Might Be Giants Why Does the Sun Shine

Why Does the Sun Shine? (The Sun is a Mass of Incandescent Gas)

Song performed by They Might Be Giants. Music video produced by The Ink Tank. A group of students listen to a scientist talk about the sun before the sun makes its way to them and shines its brightest.

Henry and June Act 5
Mr. Stockdale is doing his Job Henry and June realize they just don't have what it takes to fire Mr. Foot. So, they're going to tell Mr. Stockdale they can't do it, and if it gets them fired, they accept the consequences. June wishes she and Henry could've gotten Mr. Foot another job, but he doubts it, wondering what kind of job requires no work whatsoever and encourages long, frequent naps. As they go into Stockdale's office, he is sleeping, which gives Henry and June an idea on getting Mr. Foot a network executive job, as the camera zooms out on him, Stockdale and every other executive sleeping in their offices. Henry and June quietly close the comic book.
